What is this man holding?

Well, the blaze orange cap and vest, and the "camou" shirt are clues. And yes, he has his arm around his trusty lab. But what is he holding in his right hand? Hopefully by tomorrow I can polish off the rest of his shirt, and maybe get to his ear. Also, Sullen Teen finally has some pants.

Farmer and Dog -- done! Hunter Begun!

Many thanks to Bobbi and Cathi for their work on Sullen Teen and Hunter while I finished off the dog-- the chips fly when you've got great company.

Now all that's left for the farmer is his cap -- International Harvester Red or John Deere Green?

Sullen Teen

Just about all done except for the pants, waiting on the pheasant's tail to be completed and the pants to be worked around it.

Put Some Clothes ON

Above is a detail shot of the process. I lay out some tiles, get a feel for the value and direction of the tiles, and then start switching out whatever doesn't seem to be working well. Below is what resulted, a white T-shirt and partial overalls. Next: lower overalls.

In Progress: Two Mosaic Panels

3 feet x 4.5 feet

This is a commission for a hospital in South Dakota. Above is panel 1, right now just a value plan with acrylic on plywood in a steel frame. The one below is panel 2, same size and materials, and I will start laying tiles on this one tomorrow.
